Winter 25/26

I'm off on maternity leave! I’m not sure how much time I’m going to take off yet.

A few people have asked me if I'm worried about taking time out as a freelancer... I'm not.

(Two people have even asked if I'm worried about AI taking my job whilst I'm on maternity leave. TOP TIP: don't ask pregnant women this.)

My boyfriend worked for the same company for 13 years and was made redundant the same week we found out I was pregnant (which also happened to be the same week we brought home two kittens from the RSPCA – big week).

So nothing is ever for certain.

And I can't imagine how difficult this would be if my partner were going back to work after only two weeks of paternity leave. Especially as our first week with Baby was spent on a hospital ward.

Now we are all home and enjoying the newborn bubble with Baby's furry siblings.
