Summer 2026

August is over but have we seen the last of the summer weather? TBC.

The first heatwave was spent sheltering from the sun indoors, keeping Baby cool with cold flannels and freshly bought fans. As the summer stretched on, so did the heatwaves, and I spent many cool(ish) mornings pushing the pram along the seafront.

The copyscape conjured up the sights and sounds of a busy seaside pier even when the businesses were shuttered and the beach was empty. ‘Party by the sea for free!’ ‘We sell sea shells by the sea shore.’ ‘Have an ice cream!’ ‘Pundit Paul Tarot Readings.’

The rain and wind has been welcome. It signals the start of a new season, and the fact that we’re halfway through Baby’s first year already. Strange! Also strange, but exciting: the thought of going back to work. I have two very small prpjects lined up to start in the next week, a shopper job and a B2B project. Time flies…
